DE GIER BFL advises on claim against Airbnb of more than 760 million

As a mass claims specialist, Adriaan de Gier was asked by interest group Procedeerwinkel (www.servicekostenterug.nl) to advise her on the proceedings against Airbnb about unduly paid service costs of over 760 million euros. Tenants who have paid those charges to Airbnb in recent years are entitled to a refund, according to Servicekostenterug.nl. The claim arises from a judgment of the District Court of Amsterdam dated March 9, 2020. Now that Airbnb refuses to pay, the case will be referred to the Supreme Court, which is expected to issue a vision by the end of 2021. Airbnb customers are advised to report their claim to Servicekostenterug.nl to prevent their claim from expiring. Reporting is free. Only if Airbnb actually refunds the money will participants owe a percentage of the success.
